Colt Government 1911 Full size .45 ACP Series 80 hard

Here’s a great example of the legendary Series 80 Colt 45acp. Carried for years by a L.E. officer, it shows wear on it’s hard chrome finish, but works great. Manufactured in 1990. It’s been maintained by an armory gunsmith, so the worst thing about it is it’s scuffed finish. Five inch barrel with factory bushing, standard recoil spring, plus a new spare recoil spring. It comes with a new Allen ITP style holster, two new belt mount magazine pouches, plus two new OEM style Eagle magazines. The slide and frame show light pitting and light scratches, especially at the frame nose. Backstrap, safety and slide release show beginning signs of chrome chipping. Frame looks very good, but two chips in the plating around the trigger guard. Detail photos overexposed to magnify the scratches and wear on the barrel, slide and backstrap. Excellent to continue to use as is, or a perfect base for a refinish and customize job. Barrel nose has some finish chipping, but is otherwise in great shape. Original grips are tired. I didn’t want to try to guess what new grips a buyer might want, so pistol is priced accordingly.
